The 5 Levels of Leadership

If you haven’t seen the Success From Home magazine that is dedicated entirely to It Works! I urge you to hit the local news stands in March and pick one up (it will be issued in April-distributors got a sneak peak!).  Inside there was a featured article about leadership.  Here are the highlights.

Position.  Level One.  This is the lowest level.  Only influence a person has at this level is that which comes with the job title.  They may be bosses but they are never leaders.  They have subordinates but they do not have team members.

Permission.  Level Two.  This level is based entirely on relationships.  People follow because they want to.  When you treat people like individuals that have value you begin to develop influence on them.

Production.  Level Three.  Leaders at this level do not just focus on a positive work environment.  They get things done.  Leaders gain influence and credibility and people begin to follow them because of what they have done.

People Development.  Level Four.  Leaders become great because of their ability to empower others.

Pinnacle.  Level Five.  They develop leaders to become level 4 leaders.

If you’ve ever seen my personal weight loss blog (check it out here) you’ll know how much I love quotes.  Quotes are inspiring to me.  One of my favorite websites is Think Exist, which is a huge database of meaningful quotes from a wide variety of authors on countless topics.  If I’m having a moment where I am feeling discouraged, down in the dumps, or just plain blah, it doesn’t take me long to find a quote that will lift my spirits.

I would like to share with you my new vision for my It Works! business.  After reading through the Success From Home Magazine that features It Works! in its entirety (hitting newstands soon!) my goals and dreams of what role I will play in this business drastically changed.

Success From Home magazine featured a ton of  fantastic information about the company, its products, and its leaders-but what I found most impressive were the featured articles on people like me-the distributors-and how they found such great success with It Works!  I read and reread the articles about a hundred times and the same thing stood out to me.  They were leaders.  Instead of investing their time into growing their own buisness, they focused more on developing their team.  The majority of their time was spent recruiting new team members and helping them develop their business so that their dreams would come true.

Inspired by this, it has also become my new vision.  I want to help people  grow their business, reach their dreams, exceed their expectations, and accomplish their goals.  As of right now, I have three direct teammates.  My salon is welcoming her first team member to her group tonight.  And my plan is to care for all of them.  To be their support and their biggest cheerleader always.  If you decide to become a member of Team Toni (haha or Toni’s Tigers, I haven’t officially picked a name yet!) I will be there to support you 100% of the time.  We can all do this if we do it together.  All it takes is the drive, enthusiasm, and the desire to make it a reality.

At my full time job, I teach a supervisory development leadership series co-authored with Penn State.  Today, my class participants brainstormed the characteristics of effective and non-effective leaders.  While we all, at times, embody the bad characteristics of leadership, I will strive to always be the example of a good leader.  I know I have quite a ways to go, but I’m on this journey too.  All it takes is the heart and the passion to help others.  I’m lucky.  I’ve had that my whole life.

Why I’d like to be the one to help you apply your first It Works! Ultimate Body Applicator…

Inquiring minds want to know…how long will the results of the Ultimate Body Applicator last?

How long do the It Works body wraps work? It’s a question I hear almost every day.

The corporate marketing folks at It Works have a done a great job in getting the word out that you can see tightening results in as little as 45 minutes (I always advise wearing the Ultimate Body Applicator for an hour for your first wrap-future wraps can be worn up to 8 hours!). But then always comes the follow-up question.

“How long does It Works body wraps’ results last?”

Short answer, three to six months. But there’s a big caveat.

You may have heard (or read) me explain that the It Works! Ultimate Body Applicator works as a detox.  It’s powerful botanical ingredients absorb through the skin and get into your fat cells, loosening up the toxins and extra fat we store there. Then we drink, drink, drink to flush the gunk away.

Let me tell you what the It Works body wraps are not: They are not liposuction. That is to say, we’re not removing any of your fat cells, even if your jeans suddenly seem big on you. The fat cells are still there. I’m so sorry to break the bad news!

Drinking water while you wrap is critical. Here’s why…

I have previously mentioned how important it is to drink water while working with the It Works body wraps to achieve your goals. But how much?  The It Works Ultimate Body Applicator (what we call our body wraps) is a form of a detox. It gets in and lifts up all the impurities and toxins in our skin and even the fat cells just beneath the skin (that’s where we have them, ladies!). Then we drink a lot of water to flush them through our lymph system.

Can you tell which leg was wrapped?

It’s not surprising, then, that water would be a key component of our wraps. But did you know that although you only wear the wrap for an hour or so, it continues to work for 72 hours?! That means you also have to keep up your water intake.

That’s hard for a lot of people. For the most part, we don’t drink water. We drink beverages with sodium or sugar or caffeine. Or all three! But if you want to make the most of your It Works body wrap experience – than really, you should be drinking plenty of water of everyday. 

You have to drink water. Lots of water. How much? Are you ready? There is a simple formula for this.  Take your weight and divide it in half, then drink that amount in ounces. For example, a person who weighs 150 pounds would need to drink 75 ounces of water for optimum results. 

 It’s important to stress that nobody expects you to drink that much water in an hour.  That’s the amount of ounces that you should be drinking daily.

No, really…The Ultimate Body Applicators REALLY Work!

I had some amazing success in my very breif time wrapping people.  Well, I shouldn’t say that I had the success…but my customers have.  My first couple clients wrapped their arms and chins and had about 1″-1 1/2″ losses each in an hour…next, I wrapped my Mom and in three days she was down 5 inches!  Then, I wrapped a fellow bridesmaid in my sister’s wedding (whom I have never met before our appointment) and in three day’s time she had lost 5.5 inches.  And then….I had my record breaker.
